JW Classics Managing Director, Jonathan White, has a long standing involvement in Historic Motorsport, so it was only natural his passion would lead him to JW Classics. Jonathan began racing at 17 and has raced competitively in all manner of historic racing cars from 1991 to the present day. Starting as an instructor at Ireland’s Mondello Park in 1995, he found that perhaps a career in Motorsport would ensue, but despite many years racing at club level and moving into the family business, the dream of a career in professional Motorsport did not materialise. Following in his Fathers and Uncles footsteps, his early foray in Historics was in a 1969 MGB Roadster, a car he still owns today. Moving onto more powerful cars such as Capris and 911’s in the early 00’s. Jonathan found his true love racing a Triumph TR6 on the European and UK circuits, such as Spa-Francochamps & Donington in the late 00’s.
In 2015 & 2016, Jonathan campaigned a Historic 1984 GRP A Rover SD1 in the Motor Racing Legends Series and in 2015 won a class award for his and his co-driver, John Bussell’s exploits in the mighty Rover. After a year out in 2017, Jonathan returned to racing with the HSCC in a 2004 Alfa Romeo ETCC S2000 Touring Car. In 2019 & 2020 Jonathan continues to race in a Group 1 Ford Capri 3.0S, competing at the Goodwood Members meeting in both 2020 & 2021. This season Jonathan will compete in the MRL & HSCC Group A Championship in a freshly built 1991 Nissan R32 Group A Skyline.
